After 29 Years of Deep Cultivation in Wuqing! WAGO China Innovation Center Opens!
On February 2nd, the opening ceremony of the WAGO China Innovation Center was grandly held in the core area of the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City in Wuqing. As the only R&D and innovation center outside the headquarters in the global layout of the German WAGO Group, this center is a key move in the Group's implementation of its "In China, For China" localization strategy and has become an important milestone for the Wuqing Development Area in gathering high-end innovation resources and cultivating new quality productive forces.
The WAGO Group is an internationally leading supplier of electrical interconnection, automation, and industrial interface products and solutions. In February 1997, it invested in and established WAGO Electronic (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. in the Wuqing Development Area, a company with comprehensive capabilities in product R&D, manufacturing, sales, technical support, and after-sales service. This marked the beginning of a deep collaborative chapter with the Wuqing Development Area.
Construction of the WAGO China Innovation Center began in September 2025. Located in Building K7 of the International Enterprise Community, the core area of the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City, it serves as an important base for the WAGO Group to drive technological innovation and deepen local innovation. It shoulders the critical responsibility of key technology development and product innovation, holding a core strategic position and global industry influence. The establishment of this center is not only a key strategic initiative for the WAGO Group to celebrate its 75th anniversary but also demonstrates its firm determination to deeply cultivate the Asia-Pacific market and empower China's industrial upgrading.
At the ceremony, Wang Jibin, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Wuqing Development Area Co., Ltd., stated, "WAGO and the Wuqing Development Area have walked hand in hand for 29 years, serving as a vivid example of a foreign-invested enterprise taking root in China and achieving win-win development. From the initial plant construction to multiple capacity expansions, from intelligent upgrades to the establishment of the innovation center, every step of WAGO's development has witnessed the company's own growth and confirmed the continuous optimization of the Wuqing Development Area's industrial ecosystem and business environment. The Wuqing Development Area will always uphold the principles of 'serving others is developing oneself' and 'serving existing enterprises well is the best form of investment attraction.' We will build a more comprehensive science, innovation, and service system, accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces, use the WAGO Innovation Center as a link to deepen industry-university-research-application cooperation, promote the transformation and implementation of more scientific and technological achievements in Wuqing, and contribute to the construction of the Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City as a 'city of new industries'."

The ceremony atmosphere was warm and lively, with segments including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, auspicious lion dance, spring unveiling, and sand-filling ceremony for the 75th anniversary, vividly illustrating the legacy of WAGO's innovative spirit and the deepening of its localization strategy. Guests jointly viewed the innovation center's planning exhibition, learned in detail about the center's R&D directions and vision for industrial cooperation, and expressed great expectations for the industrial empowerment effect the center will bring.
