The Only Energy Storage Power Station in Wuqing Is About to Be Built!
Recently, Tianjin Jianyuan Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jianyuan Energy") successfully acquired the land and buildings at No. 35 Kaiyuan Road in the Wuqing Development Area for the construction of the only energy storage power station project in Wuqing —— the "Tianjin Jianyuan Energy Wuqing 200MW/400MWh Energy Storage Power Station."
Energy storage technology is one of the most crucial technologies for the development of renewable energy. Energy storage can eliminate peak-to-valley differences in electricity demand, enable smooth output, peak shaving, frequency regulation, and provide reserve capacity for renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power, making it one of the necessary conditions for the stable integration of renewable energy generation into the grid. The "Tianjin Jianyuan Energy Wuqing 200MW/400MWh Energy Storage Power Station" project has a total investment of approximately 630 million yuan and covers an area of about 31 acres. This project will not only help improve regional power transmission capacity, safety, and stability but also effectively address the electricity shortage during peak load periods in summer and winter in the Wuqing Development Area, regulate the balance of electricity use in the park, and avoid the impact of power restrictions on enterprise production. Additionally, it will enhance the low and high voltage ride-through capability of photovoltaic and wind power, strengthening the consumption of green electricity. The project is expected to be commissioned by the end of this year, with an annual electricity sales volume of 220 million kWh, an annual production capacity of 90 million yuan, and an annual tax payment of no less than 5 million yuan.
"In 2024, the Wuqing Development Area signed a cooperation agreement with Jianyuan Energy to jointly build the energy storage power station. To facilitate the early commencement and completion of the project, the Wuqing Development Area collaborated with district functional departments to revitalize the vacant Kaiyuan Heating Station, providing a suitable carrier for the introduction of the Jianyuan Energy storage power station project. Moving forward, the Wuqing Development Area will continue to adhere to the principle of 'serving others is developing oneself' and provide full-process services for the accelerated construction and efficient operation of the project," said a relevant responsible comrade from the Wuqing Development Area.
